CBD and Dogs

Many dog owners know the 4th of July as both a time of celebration and anxiety- the former for themselves and their family and because of fireworks, the latter for their canine companion. A common sense solution for this has presented itself fortunately, and in the same natural and nontoxic form that many of us have found to relieve our own (non-fireworks included) anxieties and worries: CBD.

"Cornell University researchers recently found a significant reduction in the pain score of arthritic dogs when given CBD..."

The rationale for giving your dog CBD is surprisingly simple, in that having an endocannabinoid system is a trait we share with any and all animals who have a spinal column (which of course includes dogs). When studied by scientists, dogs have been shown to have more cannabinoid receptors in their brain than most animals. Given that it should no surprise that researchers are beginning to now realize that when it is applied correctly, CBD will act much in the same way in their system as it does in ours (of course, at much lower doses given the size difference between us).

Cornell University researchers recently found a significant reduction in the pain score of arthritic dogs when given CBD, with the positive effects more than readily apparent in the animals’ demeanor. Other research has focused on the positive effect that CBD exhibits on seizure-prone dogs-again, much like it does in humans.

It is of course always advisable to seek the advice of your veterinarian before adding something new into the regimen of the pet with significant health issues. However, most should feel assured that Stigma’s products meet all of the benchmarks that proper supplements for either human or animal should: safe and lab tested, and free from any contaminants or additives. With the help of Stigma, you can feel better together with your best friend.
